About the Illustrator

Beginning in childhood, Jack Leary continued a lifetime of creativity. He started in the art world, essentially self-taught, earning a place as the acknowledged class artist in high school. Later he studied at the Boston Museum School, eventually setting out on a solo journey that took him across Europe, the Baltics, and Asia. He spent months in India.

Returning to the United States (he crisscrossed the country, continuing to Mexico), sketching and painting all along the way; he eventually settled in Heber City, Utah, for many years. His work includes painting in multiple mediums: stained glass, wood carvings, collages, and reliefs in wood and paper. Much of it can be seen on his website. He’s had shows in Boston, North Carolina, California, and Utah.
