Our Imprints

Kelsay Books is a traditional publisher that does not require authors to invest in or pre-sell their books in order to be published. We request a modest $12.00 to $20.00 non-refundable reading fee to allow us to focus our resources on a quick two-week response to the manuscript submissions. Once a book is accepted, our team is fully committed to helping it become a beautiful book.

Kelsay Books publishes titles under four imprints.



Alabaster Leaves Publishing releases chapbooks that include or consist of free verse (30 to 45 pages of poetry).  Acceptance rate 60%.

Aldrich Press releases full-length collections that include or consist of free verse (46 to 120 pages of poetry). Acceptance rate 55%.

Daffydowndilly Press releases rhyming poetry for children (30 to 45 pages of poetry). Acceptance rate 70%.

White Violet Press releases collections of formal poetry (up to 100 pages of formal poetry). Acceptance rate 80%.

We also accept individual poems for our sister magazine The Orchards Poetry Journal. It is published biannually. The Orchards is currently open for submissions for the Summer 2024 issue.

 

We now ONLY accept manuscripts with images or illustrations in the text if they are Daffydowndilly books under 50 pages.
