Nancy Scott, managing editor of U.S.1 Worksheets for more than fourteen years, is a poet, fiction writer, and collage artist. She has had nine books of poetry published since 2007 and over 400 individual poems have appeared in journals and anthologies. Her prize-winning collages have been exhibited in juried shows and selected as cover images for several of her own books as well as featured art in print and online journals. Recently, her novels Marriage by Fire (2018) and Shattered (2019) have received outstanding reviews.

She is a recipient of a Ragdale Fellowship and spent several summers attending Frank Bidart's Master Class in poetry at Skidmore College.

She turned to writing after a long career devoted to social policy issues. She was a social worker for the State of New Jersey responding to allegations of child abuse and neglect and later securing permanent housing for homeless individuals and families. Her experiences were memorialized in Running Down Broken Cement (2014). During that time, she was also a foster parent to numerous inner-city teens.

She is a graduate of the University of Chicago and currently resides in Lawrenceville, New Jersey.
