Susan Hunter has been writing poetry all her adult life as she pursued careers in the book publishing and newspaper fields and raised three daughters. She was a newspaper editor in Connecticut and is currently a freelance reporter for newspapers in Massachusetts.

Her chapbook, Unfinished Spaces, was recently published by Finishing Line Press. She’s had poetry published in On the Seawall, One Page Poetry Anthology, American Literary Review, Southern Humanities Review, Saranac Journal, The Chaffin Journal, Poem and Illya’s Honey

She was a general contributor at the Bread Loaf Writers Conference in 2018. Her verse has been featured on Cape and Islands NPR radio and on local television arts shows in Plymouth, MA.

The themes of her poems focus on her family, on loss, and in a more positive view, on transition.  

Raised in Princeton, NJ, she received a BA in English from Middlebury College and an MA in English literature from New York University. 

She and her husband live in Plymouth, MA.
