Ronnie Hess is a poet, essayist, editor, award-winning journalist, and author of seven poetry collections, including Tripping the Light Ekphrastic (Kelsay Books, 2022) and Eggphrasis (Word Poetry, 2023). She is also the author of two culinary travel guides on France and Portugal (Ginkgo Press).
Born and raised in New York City, educated at Hunter College (CUNY) and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Hess now lives in Madison. She has served on the Boards of the Wisconsin Poet Laureate Commission, Wisconsin Fellowship of Poets, and the Friends of Lorine Niedecker.
