Roxanne Doty is a writer of fiction, poetry, and nonfiction. She grew up in Huntington, New York; Kansas City, Missouri and Nashville, Tennessee. She recently retired from Arizona State University where she taught in the School of Politics and Global Studies and published non-fiction for thirty years.
Her first novel, Out Stealing Water (Regal House Publishing), was published in September 2022. Her poems have appeared in New Verse News, Third Wednesday, Unstrung, Espacio Fronterizo, Ocotillo Review, and elsewhere. Her short fiction has appeared in Superstition Review, Ocotillo Review, Lascaux Review, Journal of Microliterature, Soundings Review, and The Baltimore Review among other journals. Her short story, “Turbulence,” was nominated for a Pushcart Prize by the editor of Ocotillo Review in 2019. She currently lives in Phoenix, Arizona.
