Vermont poet Libby VanBuskirk has published poems in The Beloit Poetry Journal, The Orchards Poetry Journal, Quartet, Passager, and other journals and anthologies. She published a book of short stories, Beyond the Stones of Machu Picchu.
She won the Barbara Carlin grant-award from The Society of Children’s Book Writers for a picture book story, a national award from Mademoiselle Magazine which culminated in an interview with T.S. Eliot, and a poetry prize from Writers’ Digest. She has also been nominated for Best of the Net.
After graduating from Wheaton College, VanBuskirk studied writing at Radcliffe Institute, University of Vermont, and through poetry seminars with Vermont poets David Weinstock and Rebecca Starks. She will forever miss her psychiatrist husband who died suddenly, but she has pushed on to create a new life.
