David Shaddock’s poems have appeared in Mother Jones, Tikkun, Hanging Loose, and EarthFirst! Journal. He is the author of four books of poems, including Vernal Pool and The Book of Splendor: New and Selected Poems on Spiritual Themes. His work received the International Peace Poetry Prize and the Ruah Magazine prize for a collection of spiritual poems.
He is also the author of three nonfiction books, including, most recently, Poetry and Psychoanalysis: The Opening of the Field. His column, Poetry and Healing, appears in Poetry Flash. He has a psychotherapy practice in Berkeley.
