A third-generation Californian, Lin Nelson Benedek lives with her husband Tom in Altadena and wrote these poems under the spell of wildflowers, orange blossoms, and the San Gabriel Mountains. A longtime psychotherapist, Lin is passionate about the importance of human connection and believes in the power of poetry to heal, connect, and enchant us.
Lin earned her MFA in Writing at Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon. She has poems published in numerous journals, seven anthologies, and three previous full-length collections: I Was Going to Be a Cowgirl (2017); When a Peacock Speaks to You in a Dream (2018); and Singing Lessons (2020), all published by Kelsay Books. Lin is now working on new poems for a chapbook about the Eaton Fire and its aftermath. She recently completed revisions on a memoir called Love-Starved Girl.
