Jane Edna Mohler is author of Broken Umbrellas (Kelsay Books, 2019) and was the 2020 Bucks County Pennsylvania Poet Laureate. She won the 2016 Main Street Voices contest, placed second in the 2023 Crossroads Contest of the Eastern Shore Writers’ Association, and was a finalist in the Robert Fraser Poetry Competition. Jane has been the Poetry Editor of the Schuylkill Valley Journal since 2021.
Jane had a long career as a counselor in many mental health settings, with most years consulting to a variety of k-12 schools. She also spent nearly two decades as an advocate for the educational rights of students experiencing homelessness. She was awarded a Fulbright Distinguished Award in Teaching but was unable to fulfill the honor due to a health emergency. When not writing or gardening, she is an American traditional rug hooker. She resides in Bucks County, Pennsylvania with her artist husband, Peter Stolvoort, and two very opinionated cats.
