Karen Warinsky lives in Connecticut and began publishing poetry in 2011. A finalist of the Montreal International Poetry Contest (2013) and a Best of the Net Nominee (2023), she received First Place from the Ekphrastic Poetry Trust (2024) for her poem “Mirage.” She has read in many online open mics including Rattlecast, Wednesday Night Poetry, and Ó Bhéal; is a frequent featured poet in Connecticut and Massachusetts at various venues; and coordinates poetry readings under the name Poets at Large in Connecticut and Massachusetts.

Her work appears in several anthologies including Joy Interrupted: a journal of motherhood and loss (Fat Daddy Publishing, 2012), Global Poetry Anthology (Vehicule Press, 2013), Nuclear Impact: Broken Atoms in Our Hands (Shabda Press, 2017), Mizmor Anthology (2019), Honoring Nature (Human Error Publishing, 2021), and New Generation Beats 2022 Anthology (National Beat Poetry Foundation, Inc. 2022). As well, her work appears in the books Dear Nana (Pegasus Books, 2015) and Ms. Aligned 4, Coming of Age (Ms. Aligned Books, et. al. 2023).

Her poems also appear in dozens of journals, e-zines, and online sites, including Blue Heron, Circumference, Consilience, The New Verse News, The Naugatuck River Review, Silkworm, Light, and Wordpeace. Her work has also been published in Worcester Magazine and The Rambler newspaper.

Warinsky has three poetry collections: Gold in Autumn (Human Error Publishing, 2020), Sunrise Ruby (Human Error Publishing, 2022), and Dining with War (Alien Buddha Press, 2023).
