
Myra Tejada Rasmussen is an adjunct professor in the Creative Writing Department at the University of North Carolina-Wilmington (UNCW) where she teaches Poetry and Journal Writing. In 1999, Myra received her BA in English from the University of Notre Dame and in 2014 her MFA in poetry from UNCW. She has been a semi-finalist for the James Applewhite Poetry Prize and a finalist for the Poet’s Billow Pangaea Poetry Prize. She lives in Wilmington, NC with her husband Erik and daughter Zealie. Myra loves the outdoors, running, traveling, cooking, and spending the summers in full adventure mode with her family in Colorado. Chakana is her first collection.
