Sharon Rhutasel-Jones retired after half a century of teaching and became a writer. She’s published two books: Living by Ear: Memoir of a Wayward Teacher and The Teacher Who Learned from Cats. Her short poetry appears in various journals, her longer poems in anthologies including Bearing the Mask, Weaving the Terrain, and New Mexico Poetry Anthology.
She lives in a village near the Rio Grande with her husband Larry and their cat Danny Boy. When not writing, she gardens and plays the piano. She loves to cook, often using recipes published in The New York Times as well as those she’s saved in notebooks over the years.
