Carol Rucks graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point, where she studied Literature and Creative Writing with David Steingass and Dave Engel. She also studied with Jude Nutter and Thomas Smith at the Loft Literary Center, and with Roseann Lloyd in Latin America as part of Art Workshops in Guatemala. She has worked mainly in libraries, especially at the Art/Music/Literature reference desk of the Minneapolis Central Library. Her poems have been published in Abraxas, West Branch, Colere, Earth’s Daughters, Poetry Quarterly, San Pedro River Review, and elsewhere. She is the author of the poetry collections Evidence of Rain (Nodin Press, 2014), Wavelength (Kelsay Books, 2023), and Night Travelers (Kelsay Books, 2024). She lives in Minneapolis with her husband Mark McHugh.
