Veronica Patterson is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Cornell University, the University of Michigan, the University of Northern Colorado, and the Warren Wilson College MFA program in poetry. She has authored eight previous poetry collections and chapbooks, many of which have won awards. Her poems have appeared in numerous publications including The Southern Poetry Review, The Midwest Quarterly, Prairie Schooner, and Spillway. Patterson has been awarded artists’ residencies at the Ucross Foundation, Rocky Mountain National Park, Hedgebrook, the Ragdale Foundation, and the Gell Center. She’s also received two Individual Artist’s Fellowships from the Colorado Council on the Arts. Her poems have been nominated for a Pushcart Prize, and her essay “Comfort Me with Apples” was selected as a Notable Essay of the Year.
