Richard Nester has an MFA from the University of Massachusetts and was twice a fellow at the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown. His essays on social justice appear frequently in The Catholic Agitator, a publication of the LA Catholic Worker. He was also the featured poet in the 2015 summer issue of Floyd County Moonshine. His first collection of poetry, Buffalo Laughter, was published by Kelsay Books in 2014.
