Jill Y. Crainshaw is a poetic theologian whose work blurs the boundaries between body and spirit, memory and imagination, liturgy and liberation. A professor and ordained minister, she weaves her theological training and love for language into poems that probe the ache and wonder of being human. This is Jill’s third poetry collection. Her previous collections are When the Sun Was a Poet (Kelsay Books, 2025) and Unburied Alleluias: Liturgical Longings from the Spiral’s Edge (Wipf and Stock, 2026). Jill is also the author of eight books in her professional fields of spirituality, worship, and religious leadership.
When not writing, Jill listens for the wisdom of dogs, old trees, and long-forgotten hymns.
