Julie Taylor Green is a wife, mom, lifelong choral singer, and confessed opera nerd. She spent her working life as a museum educator at the High Museum of Art and the Carlos Museum at Emory University. She lives in the southeast where the salt marsh, cicadas, and humid air provide inspiration.
Her poems appear in journals including Slant, Naugatuck River Review, Well Read, The Wild Word, and The Reach of Song. She is the winner of the 2023 and 2025 Herbert Shippey Award for Excellence in Southern Poetry given by the South-eastern Writers Association. Her short story “The Hearing” is included in Well Read Magazine’s Best of 2024 Anthology. Julie is finishing a debut novel and working on another in her head while she walks the always enthusiastic dog.
