Anne-Marie Derouault writes free verse poetry in English and in French, haikus and short stories, inspired by her love of travel, nature, and human beings.
She was born in Paris, France, and has resided in Florida for many years. Her first poetry book was a bilingual collection, While the Poem Lasts / Le Temps d’un Poème (2018), which was featured in a video interview with bUneke Magazine. Her writings have appeared in the Brevard Scribblers anthology series Written in the Sun; the Space Coast Writers Guild Anthologies Survival, Horizons, and Transformations; and Precious Publishing’s Pandemic.
Previous endeavors include being an executive in the computer industry with a Ph.D. in Computational Linguistics from Paris University and a degree in Psychology. She later founded Emergence Resources, LLC, to offer training and coaching internation-ally on communication and stress reduction.
In addition to extensive traveling in Europe and Asia, she has had a lifelong passion for yoga and mindfulness, and is a registered teacher with the USA Yoga Alliance. She created two Relaxation CDs, “Letting Go” and “Harmony with Food”, and self-published a series of Mindful Eating Handbooks.
She continues to spend a couple of months a year visiting the old continent to renew her inspiration and nurture her relationships. She currently lives on the Space Coast of Florida, never far from the ocean, on a land where opossums, bobcats, hawks and doves live and play.
