Christine Baldino O'Hanlon’s first career was writing advertising—TV, print, online—for credit cards and cookie mixes. She retired from advertising when her first grandchild was born, and was inspired to return to writing poetry.
The Bronx Years, her first collection (Finishing Line Press, 2023), recalls her rebellion growing up in an Italian-American family in the Bronx, NY. In SEARCHING for SISTERHOOD, her poems take you inside the male bastion of advertising in the 1970s, working motherhood in the ’80s, finding sisterly support in unexpected places.
Her poems appear in Her Words, Paterson Literary Review, Voices in Italian-Americana, Ovunque Siamo (New Italian-American Writing), Jerry Jazz Musician, Silver Birch Press, and in the anthology Rumors, Secrets & Lies. Christine lives with her husband Brian on the Upper Eastside of Manhattan.
