Gary McLouth D.A., Emeritus Professor at the College of Saint Rose, was raised in Corfu, NY and now lives in Fort Myers, FL by way of Syracuse, Oswego, Kalamazoo, Newport, RI, Blue Mountain Lake and Albany, NY. His first story collection Death and Other Frustrations won the President’s Distinguished Dissertation Award at SUNY Albany in 1985. Gary has since published stories and poems in magazines, reviews and anthologies. Prager published Men and Abortion, co-authored with Arthur B. Shostak, and West Main Productions has published two collections of short stories: Natural Causes and Do No Harm.
Gary founded, co-produced and hosted Today’s Authors for the ION TV affiliate in Albany, NY. He served as a presenter under a grant from the NEH American Century program and has been a recipient of grants from Bread Loaf, Skidmore Summer Writers, the Blue Mountain Center and the College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY. Gary teaches composition and literature at Florida SouthWestern State College in Fort Myers. He participates in several regional writing groups: Gulf Coast Writers Association, Art Poems, the Poetry Alliance and Sanibel Writers.
