Joy Roulier Sawyer is the former poetry editor and contributing editor for the Mars Hill Review, a national journal of arts and culture. She has published poetry in diverse publications such as Books & Culture, Christianity & Literature, LIGHT Quarterly, Lilliput Review, New York Quarterly, Ruminate, St. Petersburg Review, The Bacon Review, The Other Journal, The Volta, Torrid Literature Journal, and others. She was a recent runner-up in the annual St. Petersburg Review contest, as well as awarded a Rocky Mountain Women’s Institute associateship for her performance poetry. Joy received her MA from New York University, where she won the Herbert Rubin Award for Outstanding Creative Writing. She has taught at the University of Denver and Lighthouse Writers Workshop.
