Carey Hunter Davis began writing poetry as a daydreaming fourth grader. She attended St. Nicholas School in Seattle and graduated from Ripon College with a degree in English literature. Hiking, gardening, birds and beaches, people, and passions taught her most of what she knows. She did spend quite some time immersed in legalese.
Currently, her days usually begin around 5AM engaged in writing and reading poetry. She lives with her Dobro playing partner in a former schoolhouse raising bees, beans, sweet peas, and snap peas on an island in the Salish Sea, not far from another island where she grew up.
Moonstone Press published a collection of hers entitled It’s The Way We Live (2021), and dancingirlpress published a collection of her poems, THE A POEMS (2017). Her work has also been published by the journals Poeming Pidgeon, Echoes, and Black Panda Press. Some collections that include her work are: Island of Geese and Stars and The Weird World Rolls On.
