Daphne Solá lives in Jacksonville. NY in a country setting. She is a pianist, a printmaker, and the owner of an art gallery. Solá studied bookmaking at Wells College Summer Book Arts Institute and produces artist-books as well as chapbooks combining her poems and art, including Perry City Poems (2022). Solá and her husband spent many years in Peru, as is reflected in her work and art which has exhibited in New York, Lima, Peru, Copenhagen, Denmark, and Nara, Japan. Her work includes silkscreens, embossed prints, artist-made paper, and hand-printed poetry books.

Her poems have been published in The Healing Muse, From the Finger Lakes: A Poetry Anthology, From the Finger Lakes: A Memoir Anthology, Onager Editions, Prime of the Ithaca Times, and Bluff & Vine. Solá has visited Japan many times and in 1983 attended a Papermakers Conference in Kyoto, which reflected her continuing love of paper in all forms. When asked about the moves from one art form to another, she says, “It’s really all the same thing.”
