Toni Ortner, who lives in Vermont, has had 30 books published by small presses. The Van Gogh Notebook will be published next by the Dancing Girl Press. She taught in the English Department of the University of Connecticut as well as other colleges. Her magazine Connections was one of the first to publish work mainly by women; copies of it are at Poet’s House in New York.
She was Vice President of Write Action Inc., a nonprofit group that supports writers in southern Vermont and the area of Brattleboro and ran the Write Action Radio Hour on the local radio station for many years where she interviewed writers and they read their work. During the height of Covid she hosted the Putney Writers Salon on Zoom.
