Michael Ansara spent many years as an activist and an organizer. He is the co-founder and a board member of Mass Poetry. He serves on the Executive Committee of the Redress Movement and the organizing team for Together We Elect. He lives in Carlisle, Massachusetts with his wife, Barbara Arnold, and dotes on his six grandchildren: Cyrus, Ben, Tessa, Treat, Seamus, and Owen. He is working on a memoir. His poetry has appeared in many literary publications and his essays in Vox, Solstice, Cognoscenti, and Arrowsmith.
