Robert Joe Stout is poet, novelist and journalist whose books include Monkey Screams, a poetic journey through Vietnam, middle America and retirement in Mexico. The recently published Where Gringos Don't Belong evokes the determination of innocents caught up in governmental repression of protest in Mexico. Other novels include Miss Sally and Running Out the Hurt. Born in a small town in Wyoming, educated in California and Mexico, he has published hundreds of individual essays, articles, short stories and poems. He currently calls Oaxaca, Mexico his home.
