Sally Zakariya’s poetry has appeared in some 100 print and online journals and been nominated for the Pushcart Prize. She lives in Arlington, Virginia, with her husband, an Islamic calligrapher, and their cat. Since retiring from the publishing world, Zakariya writes at an antique desk overlooking telephone wires and maple trees. Her publications include Something Like a Life, Muslim Wife, The Unknowable Mystery of Other People, Personal Astronomy, and When You Escape. Zakariya also has experience in publication design and has self-published illustrated alphabet books on anatomy, food, books, and other topics.
