Six years the editor of an award-winning national children’s literary magazine, Sheila Cowing has also been a landscaper, a personal secretary, a book salesperson, a telephone service operator, and, hardest of all, mother to three daughters. She has published award-winning nonfiction for children and two full collections of poetry, Stronger in the Broken Places and Jackrabbit Highways. She has lived southeast of Santa Fe for 20 years with great views of the Jemez and the Sangrés Mountains with her cat, Andicat, and her coon hound, Louise.
