Betty Naegele Gundred has enjoyed writing since high school—short stories, poetry, feature articles, a garden column—as well as a career teaching science to middle school students. She received her B.S. from Cornell University and her M.S. from Michigan State. Her work has appeared in publications such as WayWords Literary Journal, Frogpond, The Orchards Poetry Journal, and Months to Years. In addition to being nominated for Best of the Web in 2023, her chapbook, Aperture, was published by Kelsay Books. Betty lives with her husband in the Sierra Foothills of Northern California where she enjoys reading, wildflower hikes, and nature photography.
