J.V. Foerster was born in Port Washington, Wisconsin. She is published internationally appearing in many literary magazines including Cirque, Eclectica, Burningword Literary Journal, Amethyst Review, Quartet, The Field Guide Magazine, The Bluebird Word, The Fiery Scribe, Green Ink Press, Loch Raven Review, Agnieszka’s Dowry, and Horsethiefs Journal, to name a few. She has work in multiple anthologies and was a finalist in the Oprelle Poetry contest. She has also won three honorable mentions from the Oregon State Poetry Association. J.V. is a three-time Pushcart nominated poet. She was a cocreator of the play Between Night Dreams and My Life.

J.V. is also a published painter and photographer. She worked using poetry therapy and art therapy in a healthcare setting. She also worked with abused children and their parents in a Childrens Advocacy Center in Alaska.

She lives in Ashland, Oregon.
