Albert DeGenova is an award-winning poet, publisher, and teacher. He is the author of four books of poetry and two chapbooks. His most recent chapbook is Mama's Blues from Finishing Line Press. His work has appeared in numerous journals and international anthologies.

DeGenova is the founder of After Hours Press and co-editor of After Hours magazine, a journal of Chicago writing and art, which launched in June of 2000. In 2022, After Hours Press, in partnership with the Chicago Literary Hall of Fame and Third World Press, published the highly acclaimed poetry anthology Wherever I'm At: An Anthology of Chicago Poetry.

DeGenova received his MFA in Writing from Spalding University in Louisville, Kentucky. He splits his time between the metro Chicago area and Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. He is also a blues saxophonist and one-time contributing editor to Down Beat magazine. DeGenova works now as Executive Director of Write On, Door County, a nonprofit writing center in Wisconsin offering classes, conferences, and author residencies.
