Melanie Cornejo grew up in the mountains of central California with the Los Padres National Forest as her playground. After calling New York home for a while, she has returned to her roots and teaches Environmental Education in the same forest where she grew up. Cornejo’s poetry can be found in her book Growing up Wild as well as in Leatherneck Magazine and Morning Glory Magazine.
