Mary-Michelle DeCoste grew up in Dover, Massachusetts. She received her BA in Comparative Literature from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and her PhD in Romance Studies from Cornell University. She is the author of a book on Boiardo and Ariosto (Hopeless Love, University of Toronto Press, 2009) and numerous articles on topics in Italian literature. Her poems have been published in journals such as Third Wednesday, The Lyric, and Mezzo Cammin. She lives in Guelph, Ontario, where she is Associate Professor of Italian Studies at the University of Guelph.
