Patrice Boyer Claeys grew up among the plain-spoken, frugal-minded and hard-working Pennsylvania Dutch. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and earned an M.A. from the University of Manchester, U.K. After 15 years in publishing and public relations, Patrice turned to creative writing, earning a Certificate in Poetry from the Writer’s Studio of the University of Chicago. Recent work has appeared in Clementine Unbound, the Aurorean, Beech Street Review, Blue Heron Review, Bird’s Thumb, Found Poetry Review, Typishly, Postcards Poems and Prose Magazine, Open: Journal of Arts & Letters and Your Daily Poem. She was featured in Light - A Journal of Photography & Poetry and was nominated for Best of the Net. Patrice enjoys a long relationship as both reader and contributor to the Mom Egg Review. A member of Plumb Line Poets, she lives in Chicago with her husband and has two adult daughters.
