Miles David Moore was born in Lancaster, Ohio, and received a journalism degree from Ohio University. From 1977 until his retirement in 2020, he was a reporter for Crain Communications Inc. Since 2006 he has been film reviewer for the online arts magazine Scene4. In 1994, he founded the IOTA poetry reading series in Arlington, Va., which he hosted until its end in 2017. From 2002 to 2009, he was a member of the board of directors of The Word Works; earlier, he served as administrator of its Washington Prize. In 2016, he received an award from the Arlington Arts Council for his services to poetry. His previous books of poetry are The Bears of Paris (Word Works, 1995); Buddha Isn’t Laughing (Argonne House Press, 1999); and Rollercoaster (Word Works, 2004).
