Dale Cottingham is of mixed race, part Choctaw, part White. He has attended Bread Loaf, was a finalist in the 2021 Great Midwest Writing Contest, and won the 2019 New Millennium Award for poem of the year. He has published poems in many journals, including Ploughshares and the Asheville Poetry Review, as well as book reviews in Rain Taxi and other venues. He lives in Edmond, Oklahoma.
