Poet and painter Alice Lee (aliceroselee.com) is the former editor and publisher of the Alaskan letterpress publishing house Orca Press, for which she received a Pushcart Prize for best of the small presses. She was also editor and publisher for Whistle Lake Press in Washington. Lee was an Alaskan Poet Laureate finalist and has been awarded artist residencies at Yaddo, Hedgebrook, Villa Montalvo (California) and Avignon, France. She taught college English for 30-plus years in Missouri, Alaska, Seattle, China and Whidbey Island, Washington.

Lee’s poems have appeared in Alaska Quarterly Review, Calyx, Kansas Quarterly, San Francisco Poetry Review, New Mexico Poetry Review, Blue Mesa, Adobe Walls, and other publications. She has held solo shows of her art in the U.S. and abroad.

Besides writing and painting, Lee enjoys reading, travel, gardening, and films. She lives with her poet husband Wayne Lee in Portland, Oregon.
