Shannon Lise is a poet and writer who finds herself constantly fascinated by the power of art to heal and transform. Born in Texas, she spent her childhood on the Black Sea in Turkey and eventually returned to the US, where she earned a degree in philosophy, psychology, and English literature from Hardin Simmons University. She is currently located in Québec City and is pursuing her doctorate in clinical psychology while spending as much time as possible hiking, kayaking, camping and road-tripping with her husband Francis, her daughter Nessa Evenstar, and their Alaskan malamute, Lucky. Over two dozen of her poems have appeared in literary journals and anthologies around the world. Such Excess of Light is her first poetry book.
