Debbie Theiss is an award-winning poet and Pushcart Prize nominee. She grew up in the Midwest. As a spouse of a birder (SOB), she enjoys treks across the U.S. to find the next life bird on her husband’s list. She has traveled to all 50 states hiking national parks and bicycling. She is an avid gardener and mother of an amazing son and daughter and grandmother to three grandsons. She currently lives in Missouri with her husband and finds inspiration for her poetry in the unfolding art of daily life and nature.
She has poems published in I-70 Review, Skinny Journal, Kansas Time and Place, Interpretations IV & V, Helen Literary Journal, River & South Review, Postcard Poems and Prose, Star 82 Review, Bluebird Word, and others. Swimming With the Fat Ladies is Theiss’s second collection of poetry.
