Subtle dissections of love, memory, intimacy and a fragile sense of hope; Tessa Sinclair Scott’s work investigate these cardinal points with a clear-eyed gaze, illuminating quiet moments of potential and transformation, with poems of ‘beauty and menace’ in equal measure. In 2017, she performed the poem cycle ‘ten houses’ at the European Poetry Biennale, in Brasov, Romania. Those poems now form the backbone of this debut collection, Dream Houses.
Born in New Zealand, further formed in Australia, Scott is a graduate of the University of Sydney’s Creative Writing M.A., with further degrees in Painting, Design, and Education. She lives in the northern port city of Hamburg, Germany, with her school-age son and their nearly identical twin cats, where she divides her time between designing, writing, and teaching.
