A lifelong New Englander, Jeff Bernstein watches the seasons turn from a hillside in Central Vermont with his wife Stacey and his current four-legged family members Islay and Maisie. His children, Ben and Ally and their partners (respectively, Hallie and Chris) and his new grandson Oren, are a source of great pride and happiness, while the dogs maintain sanity and provide all forms of relief, comic and otherwise. He would most have liked to have been, like Thoreau, “an inspector of snow-storms and rain-storms . . . [a] surveyor, if not of highways, then of forest paths and all across-lot routes.” He is the author of two published chapbooks, Interior Music (Foothills Publishing, 2010) and Nowhere Near Morning (Liquid Light Press, 2013), as well as one other full-length collection, Nightfall, Full of Light (Turning Point, 2017).
