Bill Christophersen was born in the Bronx and attended Columbia University, where he earned a doctorate in American literature. His poems have received prizes from Kansas Quarterly, Rhino and The Robinson Jeffers Tor House Foundation and have been nominated for a Pushcart Prize, as well as for inclusion in Best New Poets. His reviews and critical essays have appeared in Newsweek, The New York Times Book Review, The New Leader, Poetry and elsewhere. The author of The Apparition in the Glass: Charles Brockden Brown’s American Gothic (University of Georgia Press), Resurrecting Leather-Stocking: Path-Finding in Jacksonian America (University of South Carolina Press) and Two Men Fighting in a Landscape (poems—Kelsay Books), he lives in New York and plays bluegrass and country fiddle.
