Ben Egerton lives in Wellington, New Zealand, where he teaches in Te Puna Akopai | the Faculty of Education at Te Herenga Waka | Victoria University of Wellington. He holds a PhD in creative writing from the same university, during which he was the Claude McCarthy Fellow. Ben was runner-up for the Magma International Poetry Prize (2018) and the Kathleen Grattan Award (2019) and shortlisted for the Beverly International (2020) and Christopher Smart/Joan Alice (2022) prizes.
