Curt Curtin has won poetry awards including the Jacob Knight Award (2005), the Worcester County Poetry Association’s Frank O’Hara Award (2010), and the Connecticut Poetry Society’s annual contest (2019). He has twice been named a Pushcart Prize nominee. His poetry has been published in a variety of journals and anthologies. Many of the poems in this collection have been classroom-tested in two schools.
Curt has been a volunteer poetry teacher in a fifth grade Magnet School program funded by a state grant. He taught English and Creative Writing at the junior high, high school and college levels for over 25 years. He has also served as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for children in foster care and was a Volunteer Case Reviewer for the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families for over 20 years.
